Abia State University, Uturu has officially opened its online screening for admission into regular degree programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session. This was confirmed in a statement released by the Registrar, Dr. Acho Elendu.
“All candidates who applied for admission into Abia State University are hereby informed that online screening has commenced,” the statement reads.
According to the release, applicants are required to upload their UTME scores, O’Level results, and other relevant academic records, where applicable, to both the official ABSU portal at www.portal.abiastateuniversity.edu.ng and the JAMB portal.
The requirements for eligibility are as follows:
a. Candidates who chose Abia State University as their 1st Choice, 2nd Choice and those who did not choose the University at all in the UTME, but want to change to Abia State University;
b. Candidates who scored 150 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME);
c. Candidates who possess the basic five o’level credit passes in accordance with the University entry requirements.
d. All Direct Entry Candidates.
The statement further noted that registration for the screening exercise must be completed online. Candidates are to visit www.abiastateuniversity.edu.ng and make a non-refundable payment of ₦2,000 only. Payment can be made at the following banks:
i. ABSU Micro-Finance Bank, Uturu
ii. Signature Bank
iii. First Bank Plc
iv. Eco Bank Plc
v. Zenith Bank Plc
vi. Fidelity Bank Plc
vii. Union Bank Plc
viii. UBA PIC
ix. Payment via bank debit cards
“Candidates who do not register for the Post-UTME screening exercise will not be considered for admission,” Dr. Elendu emphasized.
