The Africa Macroeconomic Analysts Program (AMAP) has opened applications for young African scholars with a strong background in economic and policy studies. According to the organizers, “The program is a capacity-building initiative designed to equip emerging African students with advanced skills in macroeconomics analysis, data-driven policy insight, and economic intelligence.”
AMAP aims to strengthen economic knowledge by empowering students to think critically about both global and local economic issues. “This program helps young Africans understand how economics shapes governance and everyday society,” the team noted.
To be considered for the 2025 intake, applicants must meet the following criteria:
a. Must be an African student from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Rwanda, South Africa, or Zambia
b. Be a final-year undergraduate or recent graduate in Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or related social sciences
c. Graduated (or on track to graduate) with a First-Class or Second-Class Upper (2:1) — a 2:2 may be considered too!
Applicants are required to submit the following:
i. Curriculum Vitae (CV)
ii. Unofficial or Official Transcript
iii. Written Essays – Essays must be original and written by you. AI-generated content (e.g., from ChatGPT or other tools) is strictly prohibited and may lead to immediate disqualification from the selection process.
