CDCFIB warns applicants: Shortlist not yet released, application still ongoing

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially stated that it has not yet started shortlisting applicants for any of its four paramilitary agencies. This comes in response to several fake messages circulating on social media about a so-called shortlist.

In a public message titled “Dear Applicants,” the Board stated: “We are yet to commence shortlisting. The portal is still collecting applications until Monday 11th August 2025. Please note that the recruitment process is absolutely FREE at all stage.”

The CDCFIB advised applicants to ignore fake messages demanding payment in exchange for job placement. A fraudulent email currently in circulation falsely claims that candidates have been shortlisted and must pay a clearance fee. It reads:

“ATTN: Prospective Employee, You have been shortlisted as a suitable candidate after a review of your CV/application submitted recently, your name and academic discipline has been recorded successfully and this is solely sent to you for your replacement job vacancy at the CDCFIB and your consultancy clearance would determine your posting letter for employment at any of the four (4) agencies.”

The email further instructs: “You are expected to make your consultancy clearance as a revenue to the federal government at the sum of NGN1,250.00 (One Thousand Two Hundred And Fifty Naira Only) with the ‘Federal Government Human Resource Consultant’ for your posting and provisional offer of appointment at the CDCFIB…”

Applicants are urged not to pay any money or respond to such messages. The Board added: “Beware of fraudsters.”

For job seekers looking for authentic federal government recruitment opportunities, especially those targeting youth employment or entry-level jobs in Nigeria, the CDCFIB emphasized that it will release the list of shortlisted candidates through official channels only.

Until then, all applicants should disregard any email or social media post claiming to provide access to the shortlist PDF or other employment promises.
