The Cross River State Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation Development has officially announced the names of farmers’ cooperatives that qualified for the Subsidized Mini Tractor Scheme. The public notice, dated August 19, 2025, confirmed that the shortlist is now accessible at the Ministry Headquarters in Calabar.
In the announcement, the Ministry stated, “the list of successful cooperatives has been released and is available at the Ministry Headquarters in Calabar.” Cooperatives that made the list have been instructed to proceed to the Department of Agricultural Mechanisation and Irrigation, located at the headquarters, to finalise their documentation as soon as possible.
The initiative is designed to make mechanised farming more affordable, strengthen food security, and encourage higher agricultural yields. Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, highlighted his government’s dedication to the People First Agenda.
“The administration is fully committed to supporting farmers, enhancing mechanised farming, and boosting agricultural productivity,” said Hon. Johnson A. Ebokpo, Commissioner for Agriculture and Irrigation Development.
