The Cross River State Civil Service Commission has announced the opening of its application portal for the recruitment of qualified lawyers into various legal positions in the state’s civil service. This development follows the approval of the Executive Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
According to the Commission, the recruitment targets eligible lawyers between the ages of 18 and 45. A public notice signed by the Commission stated, “The approval by His Excellency is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the legal framework and improve service delivery in the state civil service.”
Positions and Required Qualifications:
- Deputy Directors – 15 years post call
- Assistant Directors – 13 years post call
- Senior State Counsel I – 11 years post call
- Senior State Counsel II – 9 years post call
- State Counsel I – 5 years post call
- State Counsel II – 3 years post call
The Commission emphasized that all applications must be submitted online and are free of charge. The portal will be open from Wednesday, 2nd July 2025, and close on Monday, 14th July 2025. Interested applicants must visit the official website at https://portal.crscsc.crossriverstate.gov.ng to apply.

b. Highest Academic Certificate
c. Local Government Area of Origin Certificate
d. Birth Certificate or Age Declaration
e. NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate (where applicable)
The Commission added that “All certificates must be from Government recognized institutions and uploaded from originals. Applicants are required to print out a hard copy of the submitted application form.”
Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email or WhatsApp and listed on the Commission’s website between Monday, 14th July and Friday, 25th July 2025. Physical interviews will be conducted at the Commission’s Conference Room, Calabar, from Monday, 21st July to Friday, 25th July 2025.
