D4D Hub Opens Creative Economy Challenge with $30,000 Prize

The Digital for Development (D4D) Hub in partnership with TechCabal has rolled out the Creative Economy Challenge and Award, a new platform targeting West African startups and organisations driving innovation through creativity, technology, and entrepreneurship.

The initiative, which forms part of Moonshot by TechCabal 2025, offers participants the opportunity to pitch their projects live on stage, compete for financial prizes, and network with global industry leaders. “Our aim is to elevate the most promising ideas that blend creativity with digital tools, giving them the exposure needed to thrive,” a D4D Hub representative explained.

a. Invitation by D4D Hub to travel and stay in Lagos to attend Moonshot and pitch your project on 15th October
b. Access to win from a $30,000 prize money pool for the 3 finalists (15,000 / 10,000 / 5,000)

Eligibility:
1. West-African startup or organisation already developing a project or initiative
2. We are especially looking for tech-enabled and digitally developed project/product offerings with demonstrable traction, team capacity, and long-term creative and economic impact.

Applications are open until 3rd September 2025. TechCabal stated, “This program is built to highlight the power of Africa’s creative economy and its role in shaping digital transformation.”
