The International Day of the Girl (IDG) 2025 National Girls Leadership Essay Competition has officially opened entries with the theme, “Beyond the Stereotype: Nigerian Girls Breaking Barriers with a Toolbox.” The focus is on how Nigerian girls can contribute to reducing unemployment through vocational skills and innovative opportunities.
Organizers revealed that the overall winner will take on a unique role, serving as the Minister for Youth Development for 24 hours in a shadow capacity. “The 1st position will be opportune to be the Minister for Youth Development for 24 hours (Shadow Minister),” the statement confirmed.
Cash prizes are available for the top three winners, who will also attend the Girls Future Conference (GFC2025). Eligibility is restricted to Nigerian girls aged between 10 and 20 years.
“The 1st to 3rd winners will be opportune to be participants at the Girls Future Conference #GFC2025,” the organizers added.
