Kano State Approves Recruitment of Certified MBBS Doctors

The Kano State Government has officially approved the recruitment of fresh medical doctors (MBBS) into state-owned hospitals. This decision is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare system and improve service delivery across the state.

In a recent notice issued by the Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Aisha Bello Dambatta, the Director of Medical Services, conveyed the directive to all Chief Medical and Zonal Directors.

The notice stated, “Pursuant to the Government commitments and its desire to improve health sector as well as it’s resolve to improve service delivery, I am under instruction to initiate all interested doctors with an MBBS degree who have been inducted by the Medical Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) including those who were trained outside the country and have successfully pass the required assessments and obtained their MDCN certificate, are hereby advised to apply as medical officers to the board headquarter for job recruitment, please.”

The recruitment is open to all certified MBBS doctors, including those trained internationally, provided they have obtained full recognition from MDCN. This opportunity aligns with healthcare job creation goals and aims to reduce unemployment among medical graduates in Nigeria. The directive was signed on 25/07/2025 under the Islamic calendar date 00/08/1447AH.
