Link to Apply for DIASPORA BRIDGE (Nigerian Scholars)

The Federal Ministry of Education has introduced a new initiative called BRIDGE (Bridging Research, Innovation, Development & Global Engagement), aimed at connecting Nigerian academics and professionals with their counterparts in the diaspora. This effort is being implemented in partnership with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

According to the Ministry, “BRIDGE is a key initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education designed at empowering research, innovation, and global collaboration in Nigerian academia.” The program will allow Nigerian institutions to benefit from international expertise, improved research funding, knowledge transfer, and stronger industry links.

It is intended to close the gap between local and global academic communities, especially in teaching and research methods. By joining BRIDGE, Nigerian scholars living abroad will gain access to structured ways of working with local institutions.

The Ministry listed the following benefits for those who join BRIDGE:
i. Gain national and international recognition for your expertise
ii. Contribute to impactful research and industry-driven projects
iii. Mentor and collaborate with academics and students in Nigeria
iv. Access funding and grant opportunities for collaborative research
v. Be part of a thriving network shaping Nigeria’s future through innovation
