The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has issued a public warning against false messages circulating on social media and various online platforms. These messages claim to offer access to the second phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI) 2025 and ask users to apply or complete verification through unofficial links and WhatsApp groups.
According to the NDE, no list of shortlisted candidates for the 2nd Phase has been released. The agency emphasized that it has no connection with the fake information being spread and urged Nigerians not to trust any message that doesn’t originate from its official platforms.
The fake message currently making rounds reads:
“Congratulations! You have been successfully shortlisted for the next stage of the Niger State NDE-FIRS Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, in partnership with the National Directorate of Employment (NDE).” It goes further to request a ₦1,000 payment to a supposed Federal Inland Revenue account for verification.
In response, the NDE stated:
“The attention of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has again been drawn to unauthorized publications circulating on social media and other platforms falsely inviting the public to apply for the 2nd Phase of the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI) 2025 through unofficial links and WhatsApp groups.”
The agency warned that the message asking applicants to make payment and upload receipts is entirely false. “Above message sent to emails and phone numbers is fake and does not come from NDE,” it stated clearly.
The NDE emphasized that the only legitimate sources of information and registration for the RHEI are its official websites:
www.nde.gov.ng and www.nderegistrationportal.ng
The public is urged to avoid submitting personal details or making payments to any platform or individual outside these websites. The NDE reaffirmed its dedication to transparency, accountability, and equal opportunity in all of its employment programmes.
